We are happy to inform you that we have a new satellite system with many popular international channels! It will be on the air by this month, June.

Tropical House
We will finish our new project by this month; The ‘Tropical house’ is beautiful house located on the foot of a hill overlooking Patong. The house has a spacious living room and offers a nice balcony, surrounding by tropical green. There are two bathrooms with showers and two bedrooms with King Size beds. The master bedroom is upstairs from the living room, with the master bathroom behind the living room. The other bedroom is situated under the house with private bathroom attached. All modern amenities are offered; as air conditioning Satellite television, internet connection, dvd/cd player and a land line. In the garden is a swimming pool and sun terrace with sun chairs. Both are on a sharing basis with 2 other houses.

The ‘Tropical house’ is a 2 minute walk from Club Bamboo and offers you the facilities and services of the resort as well, like the free shuttle service to Patong Beach road and free sun beds at Bamboo Beach Club at Patong Beach. You can have breakfast, lunch of dinner at the restaurant of Club Bamboo ‘The hidden oasis’. We offer laundry and massage service and there is a tour desk in the lobby of the resort.

The E.K. Football in June can be watched everywhere in Patong, you can watch the play on big screens in café’s during day and night.

Cyclone Myanmar (Birma)
Concerning the cyclone of Myanmar (Birma) at the 3rd of May fortunately it has not damaged Phuket. The first days after the cyclone, the sea was only a little turbulent but we did not notice much of the cyclone. We take pity with the habitants of Birma and wish them all the strength they need.

Kalim Surfing Contest

Kalim Beach hosts the Kalim Surf Contest. Organized by members of the Phuket Board Rider Club, the 2008 contest will be in late June with surfers participating.
Phuket Race Week

A full week of international-standard yacht racing for a wide range of yachts — from the highly competitive top racers all the way to liveaboard cruisers and charter boats.

Phuket Gay Festival

Where : Patong Beach and Paradise Complex, Patong
Once a community project, now an annual event, the Gay Festival is becoming a widely anticipated attraction for Patong's visitors and residents. Beach activities, a colourful parade, street parties, lots of outrageous costumes and stage shows.

Where : All Chinese Shrines on the Island
This Chinese ancestor worship festival takes place in the seventh Chinese lunar month, which is when the Chinese believe that the spirits of the dead are released from the underworld. The Chinese communities in Phuket make food offerings to appease the hungry spirits and to pay their respects. Turtle-shaped cakes are a popular offering as turtles represent longevity. The worshippers believe that these turtle cakes will help prolong their own life. Events take place around Phuket's Chinese shrines at different times over a 15-day period. Like most other festivals Chinese Phuket, there is a lot of food, as well as stage performances.

Phuket Fireworks Festival
Date  : Mid-August 2008
Where : Saphan Hin

This event takes place in mid-August at Saphan Hin on the edge of Phuket City. The scale of the display means that the spectacle can also be enjoyed from other locations, such as Rang Hill, or anywhere along Phuket Bay.

Phuket Surfing Contest

Where : Kata Beach
The Phuket Surfing Contest is held at Kata Beach, and has been running for the past seven years. It usually takes place in mid-September but this year it will be in August. There are cash prizes to be won.
Kamala Go Surfing Contest
Date  : August 2008
Where : Kamala Beach
Then there is the Kamala Go Surfing Contest held at the northernmost end of Kamala Beach. This contest will mark its sixth year. Again, it is organized by locals - members of Kamala Go Surfing Club.

Phuket Vegetarian Festival 
Date : 28 September – 7 October 2008
Where : Phuket Town
The Thai-Chinese in Phuket have long passed on the vegetarian festival to purify mind and soul by refraining from meat consumption and meditating. Symbolising the presence of the deities throughout the festival are 9 lanterns lit up and placed aloft on Ko Teng poles. On the 6th day of the festival, there will be religious processions and incredible displays of face-and-body piercing. On the last day, there will be a “Koi Han” ceremony to exorcize ill fortune and a farewell ceremony for the deities at night.

Phuket (Patong) Carnival
Date : 1 November – 3 November 2008
Where : Patong Beach
The carnival is held in the first week of November to celebrate the start of the high season at Patong Beach. There are stalls selling crafts and food, colourful parades, watersports competitions, fashion shows and a beauty pageant. This years festival marks the 20th anniversary of the event and promises to be the biggest ever.
Loi Krathong
Date  : November 2008
Where : Nationwide
Loi Krathong takes place on the night of the full moon in November and is the most magical of all Thai festivals. Small lotus-shaped boats woven from banana leaves, called krathongs, are floated on water. These vessels contain small flowers, candles, incense and offerings to thank Mother Water for providing water for them to use. Thai people also believe that if they place a strand of hair or nail clipping in the krathong their troubles will be carried away with it.In Phuket, many people go to Saphan Hin on the edge of Phuket City to launch their krathongs. The beach at Patong is also popular. There you can also float paper lanterns into the sky. Watching hundreds of these glowing lanterns drifting up into the sky over the sea is an enchanting way to spend an evening.

Laguna Phuket Triathlon

Where : Bang Tao
This annual competition takes place in the Laguna Resort complex at Bang Tao Beach. It attracts professional and amateur triathletes from around the world. The event comprises a 1.8km swim, 55km cycle and 12km run through beautiful natural surroundings. (See http://www.lagunaphuket.com/triathlon for more details).
King's Cup Regatta
Date : 29 November – 6 December
Where : Kata Beach
The King's Cup is Asia's premier regatta. The event takes place in the first week of December as it was inaugurated to honour the King's birthday, which is on December 5th. Sailing enthusiasts from around the world come to Phuket every year to take part in the event, which not only involve lots of sailing but plenty of parties in the evenings.
